A Syllabus of Thalassemia Mutations (1997), by Titus H.J. Huisman, Marianne F.H. Carver, and Erol Baysal, is a compendium of the more than 300 thalassemia alleles and HPFH determinants. We are in the process of adapting this printed book to make it available on-line, in a format similar to the companion work, A Syllabus of Human Hemoglobin Variants (1996).
So far we have converted the text of the introductory discussion for each group of related mutations, the text for all of the individual mutation entries, and all of the tables. Still remaining are over 30 figures.
You can browse what was entered here, or use the HbVar database which contains the thalassemias from the syllabus as well as new ones.
